A year-long journey through theatre, imagination, and the transformative depths of the soul
Psyche's Cabaret is a unique workshop series that weaves together the living traditions of theatre arts, depth imagination, and the alchemical wisdom of the soul. Through play, story, shadow work, and ritual, participants travel inward, discovering vitality, beauty, and the creative fire that has always been theirs.
The program unfolds across three terms — Fall, Winter, and Spring — each building upon the last. While participants may enter the series at various points, we recommend beginning with the foundational courses. This is a journey of soul, not a curriculum. Come prepared to be surprised by yourself.

Finding the Play
The foundational term. Here we rediscover the aliveness of childhood play, locate our personal story, and begin to meet the inner figure who can witness it all with wisdom and humour.

Le Jeu de Psyché
The most important workshop in the series
Le Jeu — in French, "the play" — is where every journey in Psyche's Cabaret begins. In English, the word suggests children's games and leisure; in French, it carries the deeper flavour of spontaneous improvisation, of a body and imagination set loose. Here, in Psyche's Cabaret, Le Jeu is nothing less than our capacity for transformation itself.
Many people who seek this kind of inner work do so because they have lost contact with an aliveness they once knew — a child running, inventing, feeling pleasure without apology. Life accumulates its careful habits, its armour, its long rehearsed ways of being. This workshop is the reclamation of what was set aside. Through theatre games, guided improvisation, and the principles of ensemble play, participants learn to turn the imagination toward inner territories where stored vital energy may once again unfold — freely, without restriction — opening a world of possibility and genuine choice.
The aim is to find your beauty — that state of being gripped by childlike delight in being alive — and your complicité, the spirit of shared, humorous, fully-present play. From this foundation, everything else in the year's journey becomes possible.
4 Weeks
Finding and Telling Your Story
The wilderness of memory and possibility
Having learned that play leads the way, participants now enter the imagination as explorers, tracking their personal story into the wilderness. This is a great inner journey — a voyage through improvisational play where the milestone moments of the past yield fresh perspectives, the texture of the present becomes newly visible, and glimpses of an as-yet-unknown future begin to emerge.
Participants learn to identify the invisible, untamed parts of the soul that have been waiting to surface — and then to give those parts an aesthetic shape, a form that can be witnessed and shared. Drawing on the rich vocabulary of cabaret, participants are introduced to poetry, song, movement, monologue, short theatrical sketches, and puppetry as vessels for the stories they discover. The guiding questions are simple and inexhaustible: What do you long for? When are you wild?

Discover Your Inner Master of Ceremonies
The art of conscious self-witnessing
In the world of cabaret, the Master of Ceremonies is the one who steps forward to introduce the acts, comment on the action, and hold the whole evening in a knowing, witty, compassionate frame. In the inner world, the MC represents something equally indispensable: the capacity for reflective self-observation — the part of us that can watch without collapsing into what it sees.
This workshop cultivates that inner MC. Having found and shaped the untamed parts of the self in the first two workshops, participants now discover the inner witness who can meet those parts with awareness, humor, and new attitudes toward the soul's unfolding. The Fall term culminates here in a remarkable moment: each participant presents their own Psyche's Cabaret — a theatre piece drawn entirely from their own story, shaped by their own imagination, and offered from the depths of their newly discovered aliveness.
